Boasting a capacity of 1,751.4 cubic inches, the Elefunk can fit such items as a couple of textbooks and paperbacks, a large binder, a couple of spiral notebooks, a calculator, pens and pencils, a bag lunch, a cell phone, and an MP3 player--all without breaking a sweat. The bag is equipped with such chambers as a single main compartment with file dividers, two corner storage compartments, one front drawbridge compartment with a deluxe organizer, and a side mesh water bottle pocket. The bag also closes securely thanks to the dual buckle closure front flap, which includes an exterior zippered pocket for thin items. And as with any good bag, the Elefunk is comfortable to carry, with a padded, adjustable webbing strap that slings easily across your shoulder. Other features include 600-denier polyester and 420-denier velocity nylon construction, a quick-find cell phone pocket, and a fully padded back panel for cushioning comfort. Extremely durable June 27, 2006 J. Brewer 19 out of 20 found this review helpful
I've had this bag for a year now and it still impresses me with it's durability! I'm a student so I pack an incredible amount of books all over the city and any other bag would start to show wear from the load but this one is still good as new. Also the pockets are very handy. My only complaint is that the fabric tends to stain easily, but this could probably be avoided with some staingard.
Versatile messenger bag January 18, 2007 Kathy S. Grossman (Anacortes, WA USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I love this bag - it is sturdy and holds a lot in a compact space. There is a padded inner compartment for your laptop with plenty of extra room for files or books. The fabric is good quality. I don't know why they call the color purple mash as you can see from the picture it is really quite pink. I also don't know why they call it a backpack when it is clearly a messenger bag. Other than these quibbles with the copy writer, I highly recommend this bag.
Good bag for a college student March 9, 2006 Jacquelyn A. Beiter 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I use this bag for my books and supplies, and recently my laptop. Yes, there are problems with weight distribution, but it's a messenger bag, and that's to be expected. Lots of space for all of my stuff. Jansport is a reputable brand, and the product has performed well for me.
Elefunk Messenger Bag January 20, 2009 Erin L. Bigger (Chicago, IL) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I purchased this bag for my partner who is pursuing college. He absolutely loves this bag. There are a number of zippered compartments on the body of the bag. The front flap also has a small pocket for easy access externally which, is secured by clips that attach to the bottom of the bag. Beneath the flap is another zippered compartment that is very handy. It has a number of pockets, a key ring, among other areas to keep yourself organized, this zippered area provides a secure place to carry a wallet or music player without having the worry of being pick-pocketed. We live in Chicago and this is a wonderful commuter bag as well. The strap has an adjustable pad for heavier loads as well as a padded back for wearing while biking. There is also a netted external pouch for bottles. The main compartment of the bag is secured by a long zipper that runs the length of the opening and also has a padded divider for occasionally transporting any size laptop. It was money well spent, as he'll be sure to use the bag for years to come. I hope this helps in your decision.
Great bag September 22, 2007 P.E.P. (Skokie, IL United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a very stylish bag with lots of room. I am a teacher and use it everyday to carry books and papers back and forth to school. After reading other reviews, I was a little worried that it would be too small. I took a gamble anyway and ordered it. It has lots of compartments and it's roomy enough to fit everything, including my lunch. I can also put my large thermos in there on days when I have only two or three books. I love the color. The fabric is very durable and it seems waterproof.
